TWELVE teams of triples entered an all-day ladies' competition at Watchet Bowling Club - with the winning team coming from Wellington.
Lisa Dart, Marguerite Nichols and skip Gill Groves won all four games of eight ends each to win the trophy.
It was a very hot day so the club had done everything it could to make sure everyone playing had cold drinks available and teas, biscuits and an excellent lunch.
The Wellington trio defeated Bridgwater in a close battle by 9 shots to 4, then another team from Wellington 15 – 2 and then a third win against Minehead by 9 shots to 3.
With one game to play, four teams were in the running for the trophy .
Gill's team were up against Bridgwater's Victoria Park. They led by 10 shots to 2 and her team added insult to injury by scoring 8 shots in the last end to win the game and the trophy 18 - 2.
