MINEHEAD Barbarians play away to Weston super Mare's 2nd XV in Counties Two Somerset tomorrow (Sat).

After their spirited display away to leaders Old Redcliffians two weeks ago, the Babas found themselves with a blank Saturday last weekend for both their senior sides.

The game at Weston tomorrow is described as a 'must-win' match by Minehead's head coach Jack Claydon who said: "We have to beat sides like Weston if we are to secure our status in the division next season.

"Minehead's ball retention in the 38-14 defeat by Old Reds was considered the best of the season by Claydon who remains frustratingly on the injured list. And with more returning to the side for one reason or another, Minehead are looking to continue their improvement against Weston who are lying second from bottom.

Minehead will also be chasing the season's double against Weston, having beaten their rivals 19-7 at home in early November, despite fielding an understrength side.Since then, Minehead have gradually been fielding stronger teams which has also been reflected in the strength of the club's 2nd XV who have taken the brunt of the injuries this season.

Weston were in action last weekend, losing 47-24 at home to third-placed Taunton who are just tucked in behind the leaders of the division.
