WATCHET Town kept up the pressure at the top of the first division in the Uhlsport Somerset County League with a 1-0 away victory over Nailsea & Tickenham Reserves yesterday (Sat).

It means they stay second in the table, seven points behind leaders Staplegrove with two games in hand.

Alfie Cox snapped up the only goal of the game at Nailsea - in the first half.

Minehead also stay seventh in the division after gaining a goalless away draw against Middlezoy Rovers Reserves, who are one place below them in the table. Minehead have not scored a goal since mid-December.

Taunton side Staplegrove hammered bottom club Castle Cary at home - their 12th victory in 18 matches.

Although down in fourth spot, Peasedown Miners Welfare still pose a big threat with games in hand on the teams above them.
