SUNDAY’S annual fun run at Williton’s Danesfield Middle School was a huge success, with 180 runners tackling the 21/2 mile route to Watchet and back.

The weather was kind, and with various side stalls, the event was a big attraction for friends and families waiting the return of the runners.

The run, now in its 15th year, goes from strength to strength, with some runners donning fancy dress to make it even more challenging.

First past the post was Ben Tull with an impressive run, and the biggest team of the day were the 30 competitors running for the local charity Elliot’s Trust.

Fancy dress team winners were the Charleston Dancers - Linda and Simon Middleton, Joan Scott, Kathy Stroud, Joyce Fisher and Rita Fisher.

Organiser Nigel Ridler, who won the men’s 50 and over category, said it had been a great day and thanked everyone who ran, supported and helped on the day.

A total of £700 was raised for school funds, and numrous charities will benefit from competitors’ sponsorship.
