MINEHEAD’S zig zag path on North Hill is looking a picture this spring thanks to a combined effort to restore its beauty.

The walk – a favourite with locals and visitors – is now a sea of blossom with views of the coast and sea.

The path, leading up North Hill from the seafront, had become overgrown with its spectacular views obscured by vegetation.

But thanks to funding from Minehead’s Coastal Communities Team, West Somerset Council staff tackled the “jungle”, clearing the way for other work to be done, and Minehead Town Council helped towards the cost of flower bulbs and repairs to benches.

Once the vegetation had been cleared, council staff and the community payback team planted daffodils, snowdrops and native bluebells and the buds have come into full bloom.
