MINEHEAD Youth Hostel is holding an open day on Friday (August 31) to celebrate 60 years in Alcombe combe.
During the afternoon, from midday until 4pm, YHA staff and volunteers will be welcoming visitors to the youth hostel and grounds with tea and cake.
There has been a youth hostel in Minehead since 1933, with the YHA moving to its present home in 1958.
The YHA is a national charity aimed at getting all, especially young people a chance to enjoy cultural and environmental experiences in England and Wales.
Anyone who has memories, old photos or postcards of the YHA in Minehead is encouraged to bring them along. Donations to the charity’s ‘Breaks for Kids’ bursary would also be most welcome.
