CHILDREN at Dunster First School's after school club Monstas Inc have been been putting their green fingers to the test to help spread some springtime cheer. Over the past few months the youngsters have been picking daffodils in a local orchard belonging to Les Griffiths, of Dunster, and selling the flowers at school. To date, they have raised almost £60 and this week Mr Griffiths was presented with a cheque from the proceeds, which will be donated to Bampton Court, a charity for people with learning difficulties in Minehead. Esther Rushforth of the club said: "The children really enjoyed talking to Mr Griffiths, who explained to them that he had been a pupil at their school over 70 years ago. "The children enjoyed working together and doing something to help the local community."
