AROUND 65 babies, toddlers, parents, elderly people and everyone in between enjoyed a special Christmas lunch in Minehead on Wednesday (December 19), as two charities joined together for the festive season.

The end-of-year celebration held at The Hub in Alcombe saw volunteers, families and guests from both Home-Start West Somerset and Contact the Elderly get together, while Father Christmas also made an appearance and brought gifts for the children.

“It was a really lovely event and a great time was had by all,” said Clare Pound, manager of Home-Start West Somerset.

She thanked families, volunteers and guests for making it such a success, and the many supporters who contributed in various ways, including The Tuesday Club at Roadwater, a generous local business, The Somerset Community Foundation, and West Somerset residents.
