THE service for this year’s World Day of Prayer, on Friday March 6, has been written by Christians in Zimbabwe.
Different churches host the service each year and the Minehead venue this time is the United Reformed Church in Bancks Street
“It is a while since it was hosted by the URC,” said minister the Rev Viv Henderson.
“The World Day of Prayer was previously a women only event. However, these days anyone can attend and will be warmly welcomed.”
The service will begin at 3pm and will be followed by refreshments. World Day of Prayer will be celebrated with two services for the Williton and Watchet area on Friday, March 6.The first is at Watchet’s Salvation Army Hall at 2pm and there will be an additional shortened service in The Sanctuary, Swain Street, at 7pm.There will also be a service at St John the Baptist Church, Carhampton, at 10.30am, with tea or coffee and biscuits afterwards. Parking is available in the Recreation Ground car park.
