EVERY available space was taken up when St Peter’s Church hosted Williton’s Got Talent.
A large number of people responded to the invitation issued in February for people to display their talents at St Peter’s during the weekend of April 28 – 29.
There were examples of games, children’s activities, flower decorations, art displays, a working model of a train set as well as a huge variety of crafts.
Workshops and demonstrations were very popular, including sugarcraft, woodwork, drawing and jewellery making.
Musical entertainment was provided during the afternoon and, following the celebration service on Sunday, four girls from Danesfield gave a gym display.
Competitions were also held for art work, poetry and photographs under the title ‘The Joy of Spring’. Among those who entered were pupils from Danesfield, members of the brownies as well as adults and children from all over the village.
Refreshments included ploughman’s lunches, and the organisers are very grateful to The Co-op, Spar and Williton Service Station for their generous donations of food.
One of the organisers, Kathryn Flenley, said: “Thank you to all those who made this event such a success. Williton’s Got Talent was meant to be a celebration of our talented community and by all the positive comments received it did just that!”
