A litter-pick of Union and Watery Lanes, Williton – origially scheduled for March – was organised by the parish council on Saturday (Sepember 26).

Three parish councillors, Robert Macdonald, Peter Payne and Rosemary Woods, were joined by five local residents to try and remove as much litter and rubbish as possible.

After two hours on a fine sunny morning, the group had managed to collect 14 black sacks of rubbish and one or two larger discarded items.

Litter is a constant battle and one of the group said that if everyone was to pick up litter form outside their own front gate and put in their bin the whole community would look much better.
