OVER 1000 people poured on to Williton recreation ground in glorious sunshine on Saturday and helped to make the annual fete a great success.

The fete and dog show offered plenty for families to do, with a duck race, children’s races, and handicraft, flower and produce show and a tug-of-war among the crowd-pleasers.

Williton firefighters were among those to put on a display, and there was a model farm, tractors supplied by Edward Martin, a hog roast, cakes donated by Glenmore Bakery, and a bouncy disco dome as well as stalls, among other attractions.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “As with any event, it could not be run without the help of volunteers and we were so grateful for all of the help received, even from neighbouring parishes and different counties!

“A big thank you to everyone who helped either to set up, run stands or clear away at the end.”
