SIR — I refer to my letter in the Free Press of Friday April 27 and the two replies last week.

Not wishing to prolong the discussion, firstly my apologies for the error in saying the monies came from Section 106 - I now know that this was incorrect. Secondly, the whole point of my letter has been missed.

I am totally in support of the bridge and the councillors who worked so hard to obtain the funding. What I was upset about was the mention of who gave money for the "extras".

All of Watchet, old and new, supported and contributed in some way and no distinction should have been made.

Lastly, I would point out that my letter was written as a resident and not as a councillor as it was my own personal opinion I was stating.

Once again my apologies and thanks to those who worked so hard.
