Exford v Crusaders
EXFORD had a comfortable 6 wicket victory when they entertained Crusaders on Saturday.
Crusaders were invited to bat on a very hot afternoon and found the going tough against tight bowling. A fourth wicket partnership between K Woodman (45) and M Hinks lifted the score from 47-3 to 98-3 off of 32 overs but they then lost wickets, mainly to M Sherring and eventually closed on a disappointing 125-8.
With Exford's batsmen full of confidence the opening partnership between K Atkins and A Webster of 73 from 18 overs set Exford up for the win. Crusaders started making inroads into the batting order but Webster's 60 and a solid middle order eased the home side past the winning post.
Crusaders: 125-8 (K Woodman 45, M Hinks 20, M Sherring 4-31, P Skinner 2-25).
Exford: 126-4 (A Webster 60, K Atkins 26).

Winsford: 147-5 (C Carter 80 no, D Wilson 19, W Reed 3-44).

Division Three
West Monkton v Morebath
WEST Monkton's total proved too tough for Morebath on Saturday and the visitors eventually finished 59 runs short.
West Monkton chose to bat on a good batting track and opener D Packer was the backbone of the innings carrying his bat for 69 no. P Contrerass scored a useful 45 as the Morebath bowlers toiled in the sun, Patrick Hyde being the pick of them. The home side finished on 182-6.
In reply, Morebath's batsmen never got on top of the bowlers and with wickets falling at regular intervals fell behind the asking rate. Only Andy Foxford gave the visitors any chance and finished on 37 no, and for the home side P Contrerass finished a good all round performance by taking 3-15 to bring about Morebath's first defeat in the league.
West Monkton: 182-6 (D Packer 69 no, P Contreras 45, P Hyde 3-52, D King 2-34).

Over Stowey likewise had a solid opening partnership with D Richardson going on to make 36, but from 46-0 they collapsed to 88 all out due to a fine spell of bowling from the somehow revitalised Mostyn Symes, who finished with 6-35, and Rob Hayes (4-15).

DULVERTON gained their first win of the season with a close 23 run win over Crowcombe II.
Dulverton got off to a poor start losing two early wickets before C Hooper and J Ellerby settled in and put on a partnership of 40. S Thomas then joined Hooper and added a quick flurry of runs. With the help of the late order skipper Hooper reached a well deserved 105 no out (14 x 4s, 3 x 6s) leaving Dulverton on 210-8 after 40 overs.
Crowcombe's reply started confidently with the top four batting well but with W Bircham and A Smith taking two wickets apiece, thanks to some sharp catching, it was Dulverton who had the edge. Crowcombe needed quick runs and with J Lamacraft hitting the ball well it looked as if they may reach the required total, but the introduction of D Stone proved the turning point when he bowled Lamacraft and mopped up the tail with excellent figures of 4-26 as the visitors finished on 187.
Dulverton: 210-8 (C Hooper 105 no, S Thomas 28, J Ellerby 14, S Parry 2-41).

Brian Bisgood also did his part scoring 30 not out and brought his team's total to 197-5. The only bowler to make any inroads was D Lock who finished with 3-45.
Having only 10 players, Crowcombe were always under pressure and they failed to deal with any of the home bowlers. No batsman got into double figures while for Cutcombe their best bowler was D Lee (4-15).
Cutcombe: 197-5 (P Webber 85, B Bisgood 30 no, L Maxwell 26, L Baker 17, D Lock 3-45).

Bagborough's opening batsmen took advantage of some wayward bowling from the Cutcombe opening attack. Another wicket fell off the last ball of Lee's penultimate over, Bagborough scored a four off the last ball of Webber's last over to bring the scores level and then Lee claimed the final wicket with his second ball of the last over to make the result a tie.
Cutcombe: 202-7 (R Howe 55, D Lee 46 no, L Maxwell 26, P Nicholl 4-58).
