AN Exmoor National Park Authority-owned area of woodland on North Hill, Minehead, is being managed under licence by West Somerset Green Forum.
Forum spokesman Graham Boswell said: “It is being managed sustainably to improve the wildlife habitat.
“We are felling some of the sycamores to produce logs that are sold at a low price to people in fuel poverty.

“Our work is resulting in an increase in species found in the area and it gives us an opportunity to train volunteers in woodland management and raise awareness in the community about conservation.”
Mr Boswell said the forum needed more people to work in the woodland, help with administration, and engage with groups of visitors.
Anybody interested should inquire via the forum’s website.
