WEST Somerset GP Clare Nettleton has been suspended for three months after having affairs with two patients, accessing medical records without due cause and failing to make referrals.
Dr Nettleton, 48, appeared before a fitness to practise panel at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester last week and was found guilty of misconduct and suspended from the medical register for three months.
She admitted accessing medical records and providing clinical care for a patient with whom she had previously had a relationship.
She also admitted failing to refer the patient despite noting in his medical records that a referral was required.

Dr Nettleton admitted the allegations and also admitted failing to make referrals for nine other patients.
The incidents came to light after she was advised by former colleagues at Williton Surgery – where both men were registered as patients – to report herself to the General Medical Council.
