ANOTHER year of outstanding A Level success has been celebrated by West Somerset College students and staff.

Headteacher Zoe Stucki said: “Our students have achieved an excellent set of results this summer, reflecting their hard work, determination, and resilience.

“We are a small sixth form college but despite our diminutive size, we have again increased the number of students achieving the top grades.

“There have been many notable subject performances in photography, motor vehicle, construction, textiles, and sport where all students achieved A* to C grades.”

Among the excellent individual student performances this year were:

  • Layla Farmer A-A-D
  • Connie Goldsmith B-B-C

  • Elisabelle Sanchez Waite A*-B
  • Mason Rose Distinction-Distinction

Ms Stucki said students wuld be moving on to study at the University of Exeter, University of South Wales, University of Brighton, University of West England, University of Bristol, University of Plymouth, University of Falmouth, University of Manchester Metropolitan, University Centre Somerset, Roehampton University, and Harper Adams University, in Shropshire.

She said: “We wish them all the best of luck for the future.”

The Minehead college runs A Level courses and vocational courses for students aged 16 to 19 years, with the new academic year starting in September.

A drop-in day for anybody interested was being organised for Thursday (August 20), from 9.30 am, where enrolment can be completed, or students can email assistant headteacher James Morris at [email protected].
