SIR — On December 14 the Watchet Gardening Club held its AGM and Christmas Party, and the majority of the AGM was taken up in discussing whether the club should continue.
A vote was taken to suspend meetings in January and February and to hold an open evening in March to recruit new members and get some fresh ideas for the club.
When the club first started, over ten years ago, there were about 34 members, but over the years there has been a decline in numbers due to several factors.
If the club is to continue with its monthly meetings, speakers and a couple of outside visits per annum, it needs more members to sustain it.

The club meets on the fourth Friday monthly, except in August, at The Phoenix Centre, Watchet at 7 pm and usually finishes around 9 pm.
If you are interested in joining and hearing about the club and would like to have a say in how the club goes forward, please come along to the meeting on Friday March 22 in The Phoenix Centre, The Esplanade, Watchet, at 7pm, where a warm welcome awaits.
