MUSICIANS and poets will be performing on The Esplanade all day tomorrow (Thursday) before moving to a marquee behind The Star Inn. Meanwhile, a karaoke evening will be held at The West Somerset Hotel.
Watchet Town Council Fun Day will be on The Esplanade from midday until 5pm on Friday, August 25, to entertain children with puppetry, storytelling, balloon creations and magic.
There will be a hog roast from 6pm, and West Somerset Brass Band will be playing from 7pm.
An alternative musical evening starts at The Boat Museum at 7pm, when Shake a Leg and Friends are holding a sea shanty evening; there will be a retiring collection.
Back on The Esplanade, Ben Prescott is running a free disco from 8.30pm. Party on The Esplanade is aimed at all the family “from tots to the tottery” and fancy dress is welcomed on the theme ‘Forties to Noughties’, with prizes for the best entries.
On Saturday, there is music on The Esplanade from 3pm with Jazzical Swing playing to get the afternoon off to a good start. The hog roast will begin serving at 6pm and, at the same time Watchet Community Choir will be performing.
From about 7pm, Jessie and The Skunknecks will be on stage, and they will be followed by the grand raffle, for which tickets will be on sale all week.
Groovus Maximus will take to the stage, pausing only for the fireworks which will be counted down by ‘Midland Mick’ and go off at 10pm precisely.
