A WEST Somerset man was given a conditional discharge when he appeared on a drugs charge in Taunton Magistrates Court on Monday, August 24.
Matthew Weedon, aged 20, of Swain Street, Watchet, pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug cannabis.
Prosecuting solicitor Emma Lenanton said the offence happened in Watchet on July 21 of this year, when Weedon was found to have 4.16 grammes of cannabis on him.
District Judge Angela Brereton conditionally discharged Weedon for six months and made an order for the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis.
Judge Brereton also ordered Weedon to pay £40 toward the costs of the prosecution and £26 to a victim surcharge fund in instalments over the next four months.
