TWO West Somerset organisations are the only groups in the county to win the 2017 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – the highest award given to voluntary bodies.

Three kilometre spring wildlife walks will support Somerset space for hedgehogsRepresentatives of Watchet Live CIC and the Proactive Lifestyle and Water Activities Club (PALS), based at St Audries Bay Holiday Club, celebrated their awards at a Buckingham Palace garden party hosted by the Queen and Prince Phillip.
They will also receive a certificate signed by the Queen and a domed glass crystal for “organising numerous events year on year for the benefit of their community and to help boost tourism”.
