A historical walking tour of Watchet with a paranormal twist is set to take place in April. The 'ghost walk' will involve tours of a number of areas in and around the town reported to be haunted.
The event is being put on by Extours, a West Somerset based business that puts on historical and paranormal events. Bobbie Rammond, who founded the company in 2022 said: "With a focus on the less well known and often darker side of history, many are surprised at what they learn when they join our ghost walks.
These unique events have been described as the perfect combination of history and paranormal. Something that makes our events unique is that participants have the opportunity to get involved and have a go for themselves with various paranormal devices, lots of people have had some very interesting experiences! "
One of many ghostly tales surrounding the town is the fate of Lady Windham. Upon her death Lady Windham was buried in the churchyard of St Decumans, though rumour has it she was found the next day, in her Kentsford Manor home, sitting in a rocking chair.
It is said the sound of her fingernails running across the windows of the house can be heard to this day.
The event will give attendees the opportunity to use ghost hunting devices as they tour the 'haunted' locations.
Walks will last for 90 minutes and tickets cost £10 per person. The Watchet events will be held on dates from Friday April 7 to Wednesday April 26.
