SIR — Over 1,200 volunteers help St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice to care for people at the end of their lives, and we couldn’t deliver our services without a strong team of volunteers – they are the backbone and lifeblood of our charity.
Coming from the heart of our community, our volunteers bring warmth, energy, compassion and expertise.
For some volunteers, it offers the chance to give something back or make a difference in their local community.
At St Margaret’s, we would like to think our volunteers also get something in return for their precious time.

As the community fundraiser for West Somerset, I am looking for fundraising volunteers to fill a variety of roles, from helping at our events or to running an event themselves such as a Time 4 Tea, or placing and looking after collecting boxes in shops around the area.
If you feel you have something to offer, please contact St Margaret’s fundraising office on 0845 070 8910 or visit our website www.somerset-hospice.org.uk and search for “volunteer roles”.
Thank you very much
