SIR — Watchet Town Council has received a petition and request from some Doniford Road residents about the seat at the corner of Doniford Road/Liddymore Road, requesting it be removed because it is a gathering point for young people who commit anti-social behaviour.
The council's environment and planning committee has considered this matter and resolved under instruction from full council to consult various people in the town in order to reach a considered view.
I am writing to ask residents of Watchet through the medium of your letters page about this matter.
It has been suggested that removing the seat for a trial period to see what happens to anti-social behaviour would be a good idea.

We are interested in their opinion and ask that if they wish to express a view, please write a letter and post/deliver it to the Council Chamber in Swain Street.
Please do not call in and speak to the staff as only written responses can considered by the seat working party which has been set up to advise the council.
I look forward to hearing from Watchet residents and request that they respond by August 23 so that council can come to a decision in September.
Sarah Reed,
Clerk, Watchet Town Council.
