SIR — Perhaps the middle-aged couple who were seen scooping up a plant from the garden at Watchet Station in the middle of Saturday morning did not think this was stealing. A member of the public pointed out to these people that the plants which look so pretty in the station garden had been raised, paid for and planted by friends of the station and cared for by the Seahorse Group from Minehead, and to take any was theft. The couple refused to replace the plant they had stolen and walked off with it. We were disappointed at such behaviour and hope nothing like this happens again to spoil the displays of flowers and scented herbs so lovingly planted for others to enjoy. Valerie A Ward, Secretary, Friends of Watchet Station.
