THE first traditional funfair to visit Minehead for 20 years will open on land off Seaward Way on Wednesday (September 4) after a civic welcome and will provide entertainment for visitors and residents until Saturday, September 7.

Food hygiene ratings given to four Somerset establishmentsInvited to Minehead by the town council, Danter’s Funfair will be opened on Alcombe Marsh Common by the mayor Cllr Sandra Slade and deputy mayor Cllr Paul Bolton.
It is the result of months of work by Cllr Bolton and Cllr Toni Bloomfield who negotiated the visit with fairground boss Leigh Danter and recommended possible sites.
After a public consultation, council approval was given for the fair to be held on a site near the Rose Garden. It will be open on weekdays from 5pm to 9pm? and at the weekend from ?noon to 9pm?.
