CLOWNS - the West Somerset-based play and learning charity - has scooped a top award for its toy library.
It has become the first in Somerset to be gain the 'quality assurance' mark from the National Association of Toy and Leisure Libraries.
And Tim Bearcroft from NATLL, who travelled from London to present the award on Wednesday, said CLOWNS was the first toy library to achieve the award without any help from the association.
The assessor who checked out the facility praised CLOWNS and said the charity had proved it thought very carefully about all aspects of its service, including marketing, publicity and image.

Police informed after Minehead school pupil approached by man on way home"The toy library benefits greatly from being a part of CLOWNS which must be congratulated on its bright and attractive image," he said.
"As a parent, carer of children, to see the CLOWNS vehicles and the staff appearing with their bright pink T-shirts would fill me with delight.
"The theme, which runs through all the publicity and leaflets is brilliant."
The toy library celebrated its 20th anniversary last May and CLOWNS co-ordinator Kathy Morton said she wanted to thank the staff team for its dedication in running the facility, particularly Davina Jones Bartlett.
"It is wonderful to celebrate," said Kathy.
"It has been a challenge with funding over the years but we have succeeded because it can be proven how important it is for parents/carers to be able to access a selection of stimulating, educational and fun toys, including multicultural and sensory."
The toy library is based at the CLOWNS headquarters at the West Somerset Sports and Leisure Centre in Minehead and is open from 9.30am to 4pm on Mondays and Wednesdays during term time.
Toys can be hired from 30p to £1 per item per fortnight and annual subscriptions cost £1.50 for individuals and £5 for groups.
