THE Alcombe Tandoori has been named as the Best South Asian Restaurant in the South West at a prestigious industry awards ceremony held at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair.
The West Somerset restaurant and takeaway beat off competition from far and wide to win the title at the annual Asian Curry Awards.
It was the first time the restaurant had taken part in the awards and was up against hundreds of restaurants for the accolade.
The honours are a jointly organised by the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers and the Asian Catering Federation.

The awards were split into 14 regional categories, with honours for chefs and industry newcomers as well as the more established restaurants such as the Alcombe Tandoori.
A spokesman for the restaurant said everyone was thrilled and proud to have won.
