YOUNG Tobias Williams was the star of the night at a fundraising auction held in the Royal British Legion Club in Minehead last Friday.
At the tender age of just six, Tobias (pictured) was determined to do his bit for the event and volunteered to sing a song about soldiers that he had learned at Minehead First School.
His grandmother Kathleen Bryant, who is secretary of the women's section of the legion club, said Tobias' performance brought tears to the eyes of many of the audience members.
"He borrowed his teacher's music stand so he could have the words in front of him in case he forgot them, but he did very well and had a few people in tears," Mrs Bryant said.
Tobias' mum Sarah-Louise Williams is treasurer of the branch and Tobias regularly helps to run fundraising tombolas.
His solo performance also earned him five house points from his teacher!
The auction raised £844 for the annual Poppy Appeal and featured lots ranging from a man's leather coat, handbags and tools to wine and a games table.
