Surely it is now time to stand back and review the result of the Brexit vote.

Yes, there was a small majority for leaving the EU, but for such a dramatic change in the the direction of the country to be simplified in a such a ridiculous way – in or out – is totally disingenuous to the whole population who have never had to vote on such a major decision before.

The referendum itself gave no insight into the complexity or nature that the result would yield.

We are now witnessing the rush to the exit for many international companies based in Britain, investment is decreasing and factories are re-locating to the continent, with the obvious reflection on employment, to the detriment of our younger population in particular.

Surely this is not what people voted for. All the promises of milk and honey seem to have gone adrift.

I have no desire to be hitched to President Trump’s wagon, and the idea that we could join a Pacific trade group instead seems very strange indeed.

Prior to June 2016, the country was on a settled, prosperous course and doing very nicely. We were one of the leading and respected members of the EU.

What a terrible shame to see all this collapse in such a mess.

It would be most appropriate for us to now review the current position, as we appear to be stepping out of the frying pan in a very dubious future.

We should vote again and this time include 16 and 17-year-olds, as it is their future that really matters.
