A TEA party was held in Timberscombe Village Hall to salute everyone who has supported the fundraising and volunteer-based heritage activities over the last two and a half years.
Among those who attended the event on February 11 were parish council chairman Cllr Peter Pilkington, Cllr Frances Nicholson, Cllr Steven Pugsley – and more than 70 villagers.
There is a real sense of achievement in Timberscombe now that the church roof has been repaired and restored so that the building is fully watertight.
Fundraising for an accessible toilet and a small servery in the church, is the follow-on project to the roof work, has now been successfully completed.
Work on this improvement will begin later this spring and will complete the PCC’s vision to provide modern facilities that will enable a wider range of village activities to take place.
A full report on activities in the village – and more pictures – are in this week’’s Free Press.
