RESIDENTS in Timberscombe are being encouraged to knit a hat for The Mission to Seafarers charity and take it along to the annual village show.

The chosen pattern uses double knit yarn and people can cast on, knit, purl, and knit two together to knit the hat from about 70g of double knit wool.

The show will be held in the village hall on August 17.
