THIEVES with a taste for the high life have stolen champagne in a series of targeted attacks on Co-Op supermarkets in Watchet and Minehead.

Police have issued an appeal for help to identify two men who went into Watchet's Swain Street store last Saturday and stole four bottles of champagne.

And they are linking the theft to further thefts at three other Co-Ops in the town and Minehead on the same day.

A spokesman for the Avon and Somerset force said: "An investigation has begun and we are keen to speak to two men who were in the area at the time of one of the offences and may have important information which can help the investigation."
