SIR — As a relatively recent new member of Stop Hinkley and a host to the anti-nuclear activists, I would like to be a voice as to the type of people that protested in Bridgwater and at Hinkley Point recently.
You might see a crowd of unwashed, muddy extremists who appear bent on causing trouble and upsetting the work of local people.
I saw a group of passionate, considerate, selfless individuals who give up their time to show others the way that we are being manipulated by multi-national organisations.
These activists are motivated to protect the long- term health of the planet and to highlight the real dangers of nuclear power (the waste being stored in ponds in a flood risk area being one aspect).

If you question the motivation of these activists, take a moment to talk to them - they are educated, knowledgeable, selfless individuals who care more about the health and well being of your great, great grandchildren than you do!
