SIR — May we please express our gratitude to Tess Woodland and her helpers who have turned up religiously every Saturday since March to provide a drop-in coffee morning called Poppins for people with learning disabilities at the annexe in St Andrew's Church, Minehead.

Council shows Minehead social housing has gone to 'locals' and not migrantsBecause of the number of people expected last Saturday, the venue was changed to the Church Hall in Bancks Street and we were not disappointed with just over 50 people and one small dog attending.
Father Christmas and his helper were able to find time in their very busy schedule to visit and we were able to listen to lovely background music being played on the piano.
The ladies are now taking a well-deserved break but will be back behind the counter on Saturday January 9 between 10 and 11.30am. We hope to see you then.
