SIR — My wife and I were in Blue Anchor on Sunday and had need of the public toilets.
We saw that unless about £6,000 is found by March 31, the toilets will be closed.
Tourism is the life blood of West Somerset and the visitors to Watchet, Dunster, and Minehead will probably also visit Blue Anchor.
An impressive cycleway/path has been started from Dunster Beach to encourage even more visitors to Blue Anchor.
Surely these toilets are an amenity that should be kept open.
West Somerset Council must be bankrupt of vision and ambition for tourism development to have considered closing these toilets.
We have made a small contribution to the funds so perhaps some more local people can ensure that the toilets stay open - donations can be made at the Driftwood Café or through Old Cleeve Parish Council.
Come on, make a difference.
John and Marian Keery,
Glastonbury.
