As the chairman of the soon to be dissolved Minehead Events Group (Free Press August 24), I would like to thank the members of the group for their support and hard work over the past six years.
When organising events, it is clear, you can’t please all the people all of the time, and when things were difficult or stressful it was the particular collective and collaborative support of Karen Mills and Richard Lillis that enabled us to deliver such successful events, and I wish to thank them personally for that.
I would like to thank all the local business and individual sponsors that have continuously supported us over the years to make the events we have delivered possible.
A huge thank you is especially owed to C J Lynch, Eagle Plant, Brandon Hire and Active Signs, that have willingly and repeatedly gone beyond and above what anyone would reasonably expect, usually at short notice and with a smile.

Letters from our readers across West Somerset and beyondI am confident that the Minehead BID with its five-year business plan is the correct group to organise or enable events in the future, and I am sure they will be working with the new groups of energetic and enthusiastic people that have emerged over the year to bring forward exciting and successful events for the residents and to attract visitors to Minehead.
I very much wish them all the best for the future.
