A ‘SPRING tech amnesty’ is being staged at Porlock Repair Café when the Fixy van returns next week.
Spokesperson Ian Burke said items such as old and unused laptops, smart phones, and tablets could be handed over to be turned into lifelines by the Fixy team.
Fixy will be at the event in the village hall on Saturday (May 31) from 10 am to 12 noon.
Mr Burke said: “Clear out the ‘drawer of doom’ by donating all that unwanted, outdated, upgraded smart tech languishing at home and help ‘Donate IT’, who will securely data-wipe all donations and give it a new lease of life.
“The Fixy team refurbish where possible, and gift it free of charge to somebody in digital need in Somerset.”
