DUNSTER completed their third local derby in as many weeks and again emerged the poor relations, losing 8-2 away to Carhampton Rovers in Division Five.
Carhampton began strongly and took an early lead from the first corner of the game, aided by some awful Dunster marking.
Dunster fought to get back into the game with some neat build up play but rarely threatened, and with Carhampton's eager forwards always willing to chase long balls, Dunster's defence looked decidedly shaky and it was no surprise when the home side went further ahead.
All Dunster had to show for their efforts was a long range attempt from Chris Small which was tipped over by their former keeper Matt Lovell.
Carhampton extended their lead when Dunster's defence failed to clear a near post corner, and although they allowed the visitors back into the game with a own goal, another mix up at the near post restored the home side's three goal advantage by half-time.
With both sides tiring on the heavy pitch, possession was fairly even in the second half, but Carhampton looked likely to score every time they pumped the ball up-field while Dunster struggled to break down a tough defence, and the result was never in doubt.
Nick James, making his debut in the Dunster goal, can take credit for keeping the score down to eight, while big brother Danny's determination was finally rewarded with a cracking drive for Dunster's second.
Jay Morley netted a hat-trick for Carhampton.
On a day when the weather again played its part, with only 14 of the 24 scheduled matches played, the biggest upset was in Division Three, where Cross Farm Park Celtic crashed 7-1 away to Yates.
Promotion favourites Cross Farm went into the match with six wins from six games behind them but were well and truly thumped.
In Division One, Britannia Inn's unbeaten home record ended with a 5-1 defeat by Spartans.
In Division Two, bottom club Milverton were unlucky to only pick up a point at home to runaway leaders Wilton Rangers.
Without a win in 11 games, they recovered from a goal down to lead 3-1 with goals from Dan Coles, Dave Breeze and Ian Toogood.
But an injury to keeper Sam Carreau saw full back Stewart Lang take over in goal and although he made several good saves, Wilton managed to net twice to salvage a 3-3 draw.
