WEST Somerset Sports continued their good form with a 4-0 home win over Taverners in Division Three.

A cagey start saw Sports have plenty of possession without creating any clear-cut chances, Alex Dixon going closest when he shot over the bar after being set up by Lee Todd.

Sam Parkinson made several good runs on the left and he set up the only goal of the first half when his cross was put away by Mark Williams.

Sports came out for the second half determined to turn their dominance into goals, and man of the match Tony Hills did just that when he controlled a pass and volleyed powerfully into the net.

Todd then went on one of his skilful runs through the Taverners defence to make it 3-0.

Chances fell to Dixon, Todd, Steve Floyd and Parkinson but only one more was converted, Dixon's cross finding Todd to head home No 4 and stretch Sports' unbeaten league run to seven games..

West Somerset Sports: C Betts, M Norman, S Parkinson, T Long, R Jones, R Treadaway, S Floyd, A Dixon, M Williams, T Hills, L Todd, subs T Wyrwoll, P Woodley, J Rodgers, M Armitage.

In Division One, Dulverton Town's bad run continued with a 4-1 defeat away to Wyvern.

Bishops Lydeard drew 2-2 at home to Sturm Sports Bar, while Alcombe Rovers' match at Highbridge was postponed.

Porlock's Division Two match at home to Norton Fitzwarren was also called off.

There were defeats for Watchet Reserves, 4-1 away to Taunton GWRSA, Spaxton, 2-1 at home to Haygrove, and Bishops Lydeard Reserves, 5-2 away to Civil Service, but Nether Stowey returned from Westonzoyland with a 5-2 win.

In Division Four, Dulverton Reserves lost 6-3 at home to Wellworthy Saints, Stogursey drew 3-3 with Haygrove Reserves, and Exmoor Rangers' game against Bridgwater Sports Reserves was postponed.

A Division Five derby saw Dinamo Watchet draw 1-1 at home to Williton, while Nether Stowey Reserves came out 4-1 winners at home to Minehead Celtic.

Porlock Reserves' goalscoring drought continued as they lost 4-0 away to Staplegrove Reserves.

Both side started brightly with Staplegrove having the better chances and Porlock keeper Neil Binding again producing some fine saves.

Porlock's best chance fell to Adrian Priddle, who saw his 25-yard shot hit the bar, with Ian Goodrum unable to convert the follow-up.

The deadlock was broken midway through the half when a Staplegrove striker latched onto a through ball and coolly finished.

A disastrous first 15 minutes of the second half saw Porlock crumble, giving away possession too easily and allowing Staplegrove to score three more times.

They managed to stop the flow of goals but couldn't get through a well-organised home defence.

Porlock Reserves: N Binding, L Cowling, K Griffiths, N Watson, R Southey, I Goodrum, R Addicott, G Mair, I Groves, A Priddle, S Rimmer, subs A Taylor, D Healey, D Richards (all used).
