WEST Somerset Sports and Leisure Centre is offering opportunities to try taster sessions and activities free of charge next Friday (April 8).

Following the success of an open day in March, Somerset Leisure will be opening the centre's doors to the public from 4pm to 6pm.

Active Kicks junior football sessions, aimed at reception pupils to year six, will be held throughout the two hours.

There will then be a weekly course starting on Monday May 9, at 4pm to 5pm for reception and years one and two, then 5pm to 6pm for years three to six. Booking is essential and spaces are limited.

Minehead Cricket Club will be offering coaching and a match from 4.30pm to 6pm.

And an adult and junior tennis programme will be launched. Taster sessions will be held on the evening and the ten-week course will begin on Wednesday May 4, at 6pm to 7pm for juniors and the next hour for adults.

Taster sessions will also be offered in bushcraft, 'Running 4 Fun', Nordic walking and other activities.
