MINEHEAD hospital staff are practising social distancing – and keeping fit – to protect their wellbeing at work.

The front line staff and colleagues are all pulling together to try to keep spirits up. They have been releasing stress and tension thanks to porter Nick Horne Smith, who happens to be a black belt 6 degree in taekwondo.

Nick runs an established martial arts club in the indoor sports arena at Butlin’s but has had to withdraw the club because of Covid-19.

To fill the gap and to help out his colleagues, he is inviting them to take part in a “gentle-ish” wellbeing routine in the staff car park each day at midday – with two metres between each person, of course.

Nick is pictured demonstrating to nurses, hotel services and admin staff.
