MEMBERS of the Minehead Taekwon- Do Club have picked up silver and bronze medals in the biggest tournament of its type in Europe.

Adam Ford came away from the British Taekwon-Do Championships with a silver while Joe Kingston-Lee gained a bronze.

There were notable performances too from club instructor Steven Masters and students Lee Tillbrook, Robert Hughes, Jemma Jeffs and Peter Kemendi who each got through several rounds of sparring.

Courtenay Welsh secured fifth place in the patterns section of the competition.

It is not the first time the club has had national success. Previously, Liz Welsh gained a bronze medal in the sparring section of the Welsh Championships.

The club trains at the West Somerset Sports and Leisure Centre, in Minehead, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 9pm.
