WEST Somerset residents will soon be able to benefit from the latest in X-ray technology thanks to three generous donations.
The biggest single donation of £21,465 came from the organisers of Spring Harvest, the biggest annual Christian holiday event in Europe, which is held at Butlins resorts, in Minehead and Skegness each year.
The event regularly attracts more than 70,000 people and participants help to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes.
This year, the Minehead worshippers decided to dig deep for Minehead Hospital's X-ray department after an appeal for help from Pamela Howarth, the department superintendent.

Marie Curie charity Great Daffodil Appeal launched in Parliament with MP supportIan Coffey, of the Spring Harvest leadership team, said: "Spring Harvest guests have appreciated the warm welcome of Minehead residents for many years and wanted to do something by way of a practical thank-you for the kind hospitality."
Resort director of Butlins' Minehead complex, Bryan Leaker, also decided to support the X-ray department with a further cheque for £5,000 from the holiday company.
And Christians Together in Minehead came up trumps with a cheque for £600 raised during the organisation's Lent lunches.
