STUDENTS at Foxes Academy, in Minehead, have been honoured for their commitment in the kitchen and their culinary achievements over the last 12 months.

Sophie Adams was named as the training hotel's student of the year in an awards ceremony held at the Hobby Horse, in Minehead.

Kerwin Chandy, Stephen Morris and Marco Castello were named as the three runners-up.

First year students Lorna Medland and Jayne Peers were honoured for making outstanding progress since joining the academy in September.

There was also a special golden spoon award for Max Steer for his commitment to working in the kitchen and progress while at Foxes.

The presentations were followed by a grand ball at the Hobby Horse, which was attended by parents and friends of students.
