THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL AT LEAST SEPTEMBERSTOWEY Walking and Stowey Green Spaces have got together to organise a spring clean of public footpaths and green spaces on Saturday (March 28).

The Stowey Clean Up, in and around the villages of Nether and Over Stowey, is part of the Walkers are Welcome National Litter Pick.

It will start by the portacabin on Nether Stowey Recreation Ground at 10am and will go on until noon.

Lynne Abbott, from Stowey Walking, said: “This is a family friendly community event to raise awareness of the activities of Stowey Walking and Stowey Green Spaces locally and of Walkers are Welcome nationally.”

Judith Grieg, from Stowey Green Spaces, said those interested in taking part should bring gloves and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather on the day.

Litter-picking equipment will be provided by the Clean Surroundings team at Sedgemoor District Council. Refreshments and cake will be available afterwards.
