SIR — I get so fed up hearing people from Porlock and Minehead knocking Watchet.

I, for one, love living here and, as a disabled woman, can honestly say that I have never received so many offers of help and friendship.

The carnival weekend typified Watchet's strong feeling of community and was a credit to the hard work of the Watchet Carnival Committee.

As the fireworks lit up the night sky across the marina, I felt really proud to be a Watchet resident.
