STOGURSEY schoolboy Lee Harris had seen his artwork brought to life after his design was picked as the new logo for the parish.
Lee, 12, was a pupil at Stogursey Primary School when he entered a competition run by the parish council and parish plan group to design a new logo for Stogursey.
Local youngsters were invited to come up with their ideas to be used on the parish lengthsman's van and on parish documents and letters.
Lee's drawing was chosen as the winning entry and he was rewarded with a £50 cheque donated by the parish plan group and a commemorative picture of his work.
He also got to see his design proudly displayed on the parish lengthsman's van alongside those of EDF Energy, which sponsors the parish lengthsman scheme, and grounds maintenance company Greenslades, which employs Stogursey's lengthsman.
Stogursey district councillor Chris Morgan said: "Having suggested the parish lengthsman scheme back in 2008 as a potential benefit to the local area it is really good to see that it has had such a positive effect on the local environment.
"I think that it is safe to say that the whole parish are very pleased with the work done by our lengthsman and can take equal pride in his vehicle which now has its full livery, including the parish logo which was designed by one of the local children.
"A big thank you and congratulations to Lee for such an outstanding design that is so recognisable."
Allan Searle, chairman of Stogursey Parish Council, added: "I am very proud and grateful about the new design crafted by Lee for Stogursey Parish Council.
"It is fantastic to see it displayed on our lengthsman's van and it will also be used on other parish documents such as our letters."
David Eccles, head of EDF Energy's Bridgwater office, said the parish lengthsman scheme had brought real, lasting benefit to the local area surrounding EDF's Hinkley Point C site.
"Phil Venning, our excellent lengthsman, has had a busy summer helping with the management of fast growing vegetation and maintenance of local footpaths and stiles.
"His work will continue as we move into the winter months, helping to reduce localised flooding as best he can as well as working on other parish projects," Mr Eccles said.
