A PROCESSION of 120 children, teachers and other adults in hi-vis jackets could be seen walking between Williton and Watchet when St Peter’s First School held its Great Sponsored Walk.

Organised by the PTA, the whole school event on Tuesday, March 22, went from off the school site in Williton, across Danesfield’s playing fields and up the hill into Watchet.

They arrived at the Memorial Ground during the lunchtime bustle and sat down to a picnic at the local youth club and a fun time in the play park.

Afterwards, the pupils continued their walk down to Watchet station to catch the 2.39p steam train back to Williton, with the final leg of the journey returning the children to St Peter’s just in time for the end of the school day.

Despite some tired legs, the day was a huge success and, thanks to family and friends, pupils have raised more than £1200 for the school.
