WATCHET driving instructors will be taking part in The Big Learner Relay for Children in Need – for a second year.
The town rallied round in a big way last year to help boost the country-wide relay.
Driving instructors across the country are just about to set out on a 3000-mile journey lasting 15 days, with over 190 instructors and pupils relaying a Pudsey Bear Top Box to raise funds for Children in Need.
And Watchet instructors Steve Page and Nick Tapp will meet in the town to hand over the top box at 9am on Monday, November 7.

The instructors have decorated their cars with many spots, and local people are being invited to ‘sponsor a spot.’
Pupils, businesses and the public can donate money after signing a coloured spot on the instructor’s car, or sponsoring Steve’s large ‘banner of many spots’.
Hampshire driving instructor Louise Walsh, the inspiration behind the relay, said: “Last year saw such wonderful support from the people of Watchet and the local driving instructors.
“Even the town crier and a bagpipe player turned up to offer support – it seemed only right to revisit for a second time.
“The community spirit and coming togetherness captures the essence of what team fundraising is all about.”
Last year, the Big Leaner Relay raised over £165,000 for Children in Need, and there will be a grand finale at Donnington Race Park on November 18, the Children in Need Appeal Day. For further information visit the Big Learner Relay website.
